Your first modification should be significant if you are making your own new sprites or retheming the entire project with proper credit given to where you acquired the sprites. It is unclear exactly what change you plan to make by modifying and writing more code for the assets so it's hard to say if what you plan will be significant or not. If you are making your own UI elements that could be significant, I am not sure what you mean by how it plays out.
